Camille Vignaud

Square Meters takes you inside Camille Vignaud's studio.

The question of time, memories and legacies lies at the heart of artist Camille Vignaud's inspiration. Through a process of sublimation and contemplation, she reveals, like a photographer-archaeologist, the imprints left by the residual strata of memory, where time has left its mark. In a game of appearances and disappearances, the artist highlights the question of perception. She strives to capture the mechanisms of memory and recollection in her work, while shedding light on the link between personal and collective memory.

Working in installation, space and sculpture, Garance Butler-Oliva is interested in patience and slowness, proposing forms whose experience runs counter to the speed and optimisation of societal time. Like memorials preserving the memory of an increasingly inaccessible temporality, on the verge of being lost, she attempts to reach these long times through an invitation to contemplation.
